On February 18, at Cork Harbour, Ireland, a group of Irish products to be displayed at the China International Consumer Product Expo (CICPE) was being loaded onto a ship. They will be shipped from Cork to Hainan, the venue of the Expo.
CICPE, which will be held from May 7 to 10 in Hainan, is highly anticipated by global exhibitors. Thirteen Irish or Ireland-registered companies have confirmed their attendance at the Expo, and represent products including infant formula, whiskey, daily necessities, wool fabric, and other high-quality products.
The exhibitors stated that the Chinese market is quite large and offers inviting duty-free policies. They are looking forward to introducing their brands into the Chinese market by leveraging the platform provided by CICPE.
“CICPE is bringing more possibilities to China-Ireland commercial development,” said Wang Zhidong, the Chairman of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Ireland. “The event is bound to be a highlight of the Hainan Free Trade Port development and an internationally renowned professional boutique Expo.”
Wang stated that the association will be devoted to building a bridge for further China-Ireland collaboration, encouraging Irish enterprises to engage more in the Expo, and promoting the commercial development of the two countries.
