HAIKOU, June 3. /TASS/. Hainan Daily published a compilation of photographs taken over the past year capturing key moments in the history of Hainan's free trade port after the Chinese government announced a master program to stimulate its development in June, 2020. The pictures, which were taken by different photographers, provided a comprehensive perception of the important changes happening on the island.
The photos worth mentioning include the recent launch of the Tianzhou 2 spacecraft from Wenchang launch site in the northeast of the island.
Another photo shows the First China International Consumer Products show held in Haikou in early May. The exhibition played an important role in strengthening and expanding Chinese enterprises' contacts in foreign markets.
The exhibit, for which the Hainan Daily journalists have collected material through numerous interviews, trips and events, includes photos of duty free stores, Jiangdong New District (Haikou), a modern laboratory for plant breeding. Other images show international college and university campuses, sustainable projects and dense rainforest in the central part of Hainan.
The photos show a special perspective of the Yangpu port for large container ships in the northwest of the province, the cruise ship dock in Sanya, which originates in the very center of the island, the Wanquan River, in the lower reaches of the unique Lecheng International Medical Tourism Zone.
The journalists of the publication clarified that thanks to the picturesthey have selected, the readers will have an opportunity to see a comprehensive image of Hainan's free trade port development over the past year. These photographs, they said, "show new principles of development, a model of economic growth based on domestic and international supply chains."
On June 1, 2020, the Hainan administration published a general development program, which provides for the gradual removal of restrictions and a decrease in the tax burden for companies involved in the economic activities of the regional free trade port. According to the new strategy, an effective mechanism will be formed on the island by 2025 to boost sustainable and long-term growth. One of the main tasks is to create an important international financial and economic center on the territory of the southernmost province of China.
