One of China's leading online retailers, JD Group (parent company of JD.com store), will participate in the first China International Consumer Products Expo on Hainan, reported the Hainan Daily.
According to the newspaper, this agreement was reached during a meeting between the head of the Hainan International Economic Development Department Han Shengjian and the vice president of JD Group Zhang Yilin. According to the deputy head of the company, JD is optimistic about its participation in the exhibition. He also said that the company will facilitate the participation of leading stores and retail chains in the event. According to him, during their participation in the exhibition, they will be interested in expanding cooperation with global brands, as well as increasing their client and partner base.
In turn, Han Shengjian said that the organizers of the exhibition welcome the participation in the Expo of such a big Internet platform as JD.com. He noted that one of the goals of this event is to promote the growth of sales of premium goods, as well as stimulate domestic consumption in China.
JD Group was founded in 1998 and is now one of the leaders in e-commerce in China. The company has headquarters in Beijing. About 220,000 employees work in the company. In 2014, the company was listed on the American Nasdaq exchange.
The first China International Consumer Products Expo will be held on May 7-10 in the capital of Hainan Province - Haikou. The event is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan government. It will be the first consumer goods exhibition in China.
To date, the contract exhibition area of the exposition amounts to 70,000 square meters - 90% of the planned figure. Such global brands as L'Oreal, Pernod Ricard, Shiseido, Fancl, Johnson & Johnson, Dell, Osborne and Blackmores have already confirmed their participation. The share of foreign exhibitors will be about 80% of their total number at the exhibition, where Switzerland will be the guest of honor. More than 10 countries, including Germany, Ireland, France, South Korea and Japan, will present their national pavilions. The exposition of the exhibition will consist of five main sections: fashion, jewelry and diamonds, high-quality food and healthcare products, travel and tourism products, and comprehensive services.
