Ireland was one of the first nations to send goods to the First China International Consumer Goods EXPO, which will take place in Hainan in May, reported the Hainan Daily.
According to the newspaper, the batch with goods last week was loaded onto a container ship that left the harbor in the southern city of Cork. According to Hainan's International Economic Development regulator specified, Dublin has prepared the best products for the exhibition and is going to present its best brands there.
The work of the Irish national pavilion was organized with the active support of the country's diplomatic mission in Beijing. The visitors will be able to learn more about 13 trade marks. The list of declared products includes baby milk powder, whiskey, gin, sheep wool and other consumer goods. Many Irish companies in the small and medium-sized business category have expressed interest in the fair.
"We will make active efforts to build new bridges for cooperation," said Wang Zhidong, chairman of the Chinese Enterprises Trade Association in Ireland. He said he hoped that Hainan's consumer goods fair will become a major regular event that will boost international trade relations between China and the European states.
The first China International Consumer Fair will be held on May 7-10 in Haikou. This event is one of the measures for the implementation of the General Development Program of Hainan's free trade port, which was published on June 1 last year by the Chinese Central Committee of the Communist Party and the State Council. The EXPO will be held at the International Exhibition Center, the exposition area will be 80,000 square meters.
