The Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development and the Italian luxury lifestyle brand Etro held a contract signing ceremony on March 31st, 2021. The contract marks a liaison formed between the IEDB and Etro for the first China International Consumer Products Expo.

Umberto Temporini, Greater China General Manager of Etro, attended the ceremony, while Etro General Manager Francesco Freschi was present via video conference call. The meeting entailed discussions of what exhibitors can expect from the Expo. Etro’s representatives expressed their enthusiasm for their collaboration with the IEDB and look forward to expanding their networks in conjunction with the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Francesco Freschi said that the Expo is a milestone for China and Hainan Province. He believes that it will allow Etro to reap benefits from the province’s policies and connect with department stores and major licensed duty free stores.

Han Shengjian, Director of the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, explained that participating brands are not only focused on the expo and today’s island departure Duty Free Policy, but are also paying attention to the long-term potential of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

According to Han, the IEDB will be helping brands to find local partners and connect to legal entities and companies providing logistic and financial services.
