Tesla, one of the world’s leading electric vehicle and clean energy companies, has confirmed its attendance at the 1st China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo), to be held from May 7-10 in Haikou, the capital city of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Since 2020, Tesla has been actively accelerating its presence on the provincial island, hoping to further deepen communication and cooperation as well as leverage the advantages for both sides. On October 13, 2020, Tesla signed a contract at the signing ceremony of key projects of the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. On January 15, the first Tesla service center in Hainan opened in Haikou.

Tao Ling, Tesla’s global vice president, said that the Expo is a key supporting element for the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, adding that Tesla is highly supportive of and optimistic about the Expo.

The much-anticipated event will be devoted to creating a national-level platform for the international exhibition and sales of premium products, driving an increase in domestic spending and bringing overseas spending back to China. So far, confirmed attendees include more than 200 well-known global brands, such as L’Oreal from France, Shiseido and Fancl from Japan, Johnson & Johnson and Dell from the United States, Osborne from Spain, Blackmores from Australia, and more.
