The China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) was mentioned in the Government Work Report, which was released at the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress on March 5.
During the first CICPE held in May last year, 2,628 consumer boutique brands from 1,505 companies from 70 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, attracting over 230,000 visitors.
"Holding the CICPE is of great importance to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. It helps efforts to the build Hainan International Tourism and Consumption Center and has great significance and important economic value to promote the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and China's opening-up," said Song Xiangqing, deputy dean of the School of Government at Beijing Normal University.
The 2022 CICPE will be held in Haikou, Hainan province . Under the dual circulation development pattern, in which the domestic development is the mainstay, with domestic and international development reinforcing each other, it is more meaningful to hold this event again in Hainan, which has free trade port policy and unique geographical location advantages.
The 2022 CICPE platform will focus on global consumer products and the debut of new products. It will continue to promote high-level opening-up and make positive contributions to the country's dual circulation development pattern, promoting consumption upgrade and leading global consumer fashion, said Han Shengjian, director of the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau.
