CHINA. The China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo) is to be held in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan Province, from 13-18 April.
According to Haikou Foreign Affairs Office’s official publication Haikou Guide, the annual trade event will be staged across various venues, with the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center as the main exhibition area.
The sub-exhibition areas include the China Duty Free New Consumption Scene Exhibition Area, the 2024 China (Haikou) International Sailing and Yacht Exhibition, and the Hainan (Lecheng) International Health Consumption Exhibition.

Hosted by Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development (IEDB), the expo will feature eight themed events including the Global Consumer Innovation and Duty Free and Tourism Retail Conference; China (Hainan) – Ireland Life Science Exchange and Matchmaking Conference; and Hainan Free Trade Port International Education Theme Event.
Also featuring will be Promoting ‘Bamboo Replacing Plastic to Promote Green Consumption’ Activity; Smart Home (Whole House Intelligence) Theme Event; Hainan Free Trade Port Tourism and Health Theme Event; Hainan Free Trade Port Crossborder Finance Theme Event; and ‘The SHE Power’ Fashion Consumption Activity.

In addition, there will be eight themed activities focused on the latest consumption trends in China. These are Official Activities (Irish Guest of Honour and UK Brand Day Series Activities; New Product Launch, Product Supply and Demand Matching; Free Trade Port Series Policy Briefing; Series Reports and Proposal Collection and Release; Islandwide Cultural and Entertainment Tourism; Consumer Expo Night Carnival; and the Consumer Expo.

Ireland will be highlighted as the guest of honour at this year’s Consumer Expo, with an exhibition area showcasing the country’s local products.
The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie was in Haikou last year providing live coverage of the expo. The event gathered an extensive array of international and local brands across multiple categories, including wines & spirits, beauty and luxury. The island’s duty free retailers were among the exhibitors, featuring some high-profile exhibition stands.
